A 31-day exploration of proteins through visual storytelling—translating structure and function into art, narrative, and visual systems.

What this project investigates

Proteins are often presented as static diagrams or dense structural data, making them difficult to engage with or remember outside of specialized contexts.

Proteinber began as a daily practice to study individual proteins and reinterpret them visually. Each piece connects molecular biology with artistic references, materials, and narrative concepts—bridging scientific accuracy with visual meaning.

This process required translating structural information into visual form, making decisions about hierarchy, emphasis, and flow so that each protein could be understood in all its unique complexity. Working within a daily cadence also created constraints that pushed clarity and consistency across the series.

What this work demonstrates

This project shows how scientific content can move beyond illustration into structured visual storytelling. I combine hand-drawn sketches, digital design, and AI-assisted tools to maintain biological integrity while expanding how people experience the information.

The result is not just a collection of images, but a system that helps people shape, understand, and remember complex scientific ideas.
